  • Oak built-in bookcase with open shelves and oak trim, set into a living room wall beside a wall-mounted TV

    Oak built-in bookcase, closed

An oak bookcase set into a living room wall, framed in matching oak trim. Closed, it looks like a simple built-in shelf.

  • The same oak bookcase swung open like a door, showing a bedroom with an armchair and lamp behind it

The same bookcase, open as a hidden door

Pull it open and the bookcase swings like a door into the bedroom behind it. Shelf and door are one piece of oak carpentry.

  • Edgar on a ladder working on a two-story wall of multi-pane windows, masked with plastic and tape, on a stucco mountain home

    Window wall restoration

Edgar up the ladder on a two-story wall of multi-pane windows, with the glass masked off while he restores the frames.

Real jobs, photographed on site

These photos come from Edgar’s own projects in the valley. Nothing here is staged, borrowed from a supplier or generated. More photos go up as current projects finish, so check back, or ask Edgar for pictures of work like yours when he comes out for the walk-through.

The work behind the photos

The hidden bookcase door is a good example of custom carpentry and built-ins: one piece that has to work as furniture and as a door, hung so it swings without sagging. The window wall and the shower bench show the home repair side of the business, where the job is fixing what has failed and making it last through mountain winters. If your shower or tub surround is past repair, see bathroom remodeling.
